Dig it! I'm in the process of swapping a 6.0 with a t76 turbo into my 1970 Impala. Bodies are different but from your pictures it looks like they share the same frame. What oil pan did you use, is it a cut down f-body pan?

Still no problems, picks it without straining, car has been on it for 11 months, measurements from the top of the tower to the wall are the same as it was when first picked.

Wow it's been a long time, ok time to get started again, back feels great.

just for fun I weighed the old tires and drums:
fronts 86lbs each, That's 172 lbs

rears 72 lbs each, That's 144 lbs

Totaling 316 lbs, new tires and wheels should be 100 lbs less.

This thing is really on a diet, the old motor block alone weighed about the same as the complete 427 with accessory's.

This is an awesome project. Love the pics and info you put on here. I will be getting a '68 Catalina that belongs to my grandfather sometime in June. It is a 2 door hardtop, 87K original miles, all original, rust free and immaculate interior. Some of the things you are doing, especially suspension-wise, are things I would like to do, so this is good stuff you got here.

I will post pics once I get the car home. Keep posting those wonderful pics!!!

Tran's member cut for the 3 inch pipe to pass.
the car has been on the lift for a 1 1/2 years, I landed it on roller dolley's today and notice no spring movement in the front . The new lighter spring are to stiff, I can't even push them down. that will be the last thing on the list.
I used the wrong grease for disc brakes, so I'll have to remove the caliber and rotor again. Hey what can I say this is my first mod.

Don't have the parts to keep working on the motor, so today I ripped out the interior. Found many mouse nest, floor not looking bad, just a few spots to cut and patch.

I put an meter on the old sending unit from the tack, it read 121 owms. I have to by a new sending unit because I damage the old one. Tomorrow I'm clean the gas tank again (for the 4th time) with boiling hot water before cutting into it.

Another Big Boat fan. I did a lot of driving in a 1970 Bonnie 400. Awesome car, ate miles like it was a buffet.

Took months to find a set of headers to fit the B-body, problem was clearing the steering links and power steering pump, I only had to love tap 2 pipes to clear things.

I had no idea this was going to take me forever to do. I keep finding more body work to do, i have to fix the trunk (holes) before I can mount the gas tank. one day in the future i may have to buy or make body rubber mounts. did a brief search and found none.
I'm putting everything else on hold and concentrate on getting the motor started.
