Dlc?

Anyone know why the dlc has to have a constant 12 volts instead of switched?

So a scan tool can check module state. If you turn the key on, everything would wake up.

So then its safe to assume that i wouldnt be hurting anything by using a keyed 12volt source? I want to avoid routing an extra wire from the vehicles interior out to the engine bay where the pcm is located.

You'll be fine using ignition 12v. Most GM cars, the scan tool will stop communicating after a couple of seconds without the key on. Seems like the battery 12v is there just to verify the scan tool works.

Yea you could. On most gm vehicles it is just on the same circuit as the cigarette lighter since that is hot all of the time.
