Is that Bearing spec'd for a Vette?

I dont know about that man..

This is mine for my 4L80E Swap into my Truck..

It's machined steel.

What the f man no love this way. Lol. The spacer should have a place for you to use the original flexplate bolts as jack bolts just thread them in and crank em done a bit and it should pop right off.

Also, I have my HD pilot bearing that came with the new LS7 clutch I'm putting in and I noticed it has two different surfaces. I assume you want the solid side out to tap in with large socket?

Thx!
You look good to go (assuming you finish driving the bearing in).

Mine is for an F-body. So to be clear, that spacer is not on the end of my crank...I just install the HD pilot bearing and press. So the spacers were just on earlier 6.0s? I was just concerned cuz the piece that you had looks like the end of mine and I thought from this post it needed to come off. Thx again.

Ok and just to clarify the lq4 from 99-00 had the spacer in question made on the the crank and is not removable 01+ had a removable spacer that needs to be removed in order to run a t56 or 4l60e.

See the merv's post above for a pic of the spacer. Note the six smooth holes and the two threaded holes. The two threaded holes are used to remove the spacer.

ALL factory iron 6.0l/4L80E have an extended Crank..wether if it's a spacer, or the Crank being actually made like that. The '01 back and even some of the 4.8l had the factory extended flange crank.

That pic is the extended crank, if it was the spacer you would see the seam where the spacer bolted up.

You need a flush crank like the LS1 to run a T56 & Clutch setup.

ok, i missed the spacer being stuck to the lq4 flywheel, my main concern was that the hole in the crank which the pilot bearing goes, was to shallow for the t56 trans shaft.......Im obviously going to need this spacer to give me the clearance i need??? or are all the cranks machined the same depth..?

My LQ4 crank looks just like the one in posts 10 and 34. It does not appear to have any form of removable spacer. Guy I got it from SAID it came out of a 2002 2500 chevy truck.

Since the T56 wont bolt up with this crank, will a normal TH400 bolt up? Basically, what tranny will bolt up? I am the typical newb to the LSX stuff. Sorry guys.

A TH400 will bolt directly up to one with the extended crank, just use the LS 4L80E Flexplate.

Ok now that you have found the spacer I want you to chuck it as far from the garage as possible (actually you can usually sell them for $25-30). You won't need it. Your crank should look just like the one in post 19 and your pilot should go right in (I had to take some emery cloth and clean up the crank a little).

So I have a 2000 LQ4 that appears to have the extended crank as part of it. Look like I will have to stick it in a lathe and get it to the correct LS1 and later LQ4 length......sucks...
