68 camaro ls pro charged
I don't seen anything wrong in using an LS1 block for your build, they've been used in a lot of high powered builds with very few problems. Bob

Back at the old shop we built a 2004 Corvette using the original engine block. Added Compstar rods, Diamond pistons, Total seal rings, Lingenfelter GT2-3 camshaft, Patriot Stage 11 LQ9 heads for a 9.5/1 compression ratio, and a ProCharger D-1SC at 16 psi of boost. It made 740 rwhp on the Mustang Chassis Dyno and still got 28 mpg on the highway. This Corvette idled like a stock one.

I have a 68 camaro with twin turbo l76 which has 700hp at 10psi and
i have a 6l80e behind the engine. To be honest I fit that trans in the car mostly to say that it can be done and to see if it would handle it. If you want to stay auto I would recommend a 4l80e or t400 both can be operated with 24x or 58x from what i understand. 58x would require a t42 tcm and some inventive wiring or a manualised version. The 6l80e in my car is a little unpredictable and on the street is very keen to change gears to the point where it gets annoying, i am yet to send it up the track with some traction to the ground.
Thats my opinion, what rear end and tyre combo you got?

little update...got short block parts, callies crank 4" stroke, callies h beam rods, weisco -32cc dished pistons. Bought a complete twin innercooled p1sc kit off an 01 f body. Needing to buy heads, cam, intake, etc etc. Looking for between 700-800 horse. any advice is appreciated!
