Default 68 camaro ls pro charged

Getting started on the car. All the body panels replaced. Block in the machine shop. Have an ls1 block, would like a l92 block if i found on in the next week. Full intentions of pro charging it. Can't decide to put a 4l60e or one of the newer 6spd autos - any advice?

My advice is to get engine mounts,headers and trans mounts that u know all work together!!it make the whole thing alot easier!!!

sounds like a plan. I've been reading your build. Would I be able to get some part numbers from that stuff from you. What did you do for a wiring harness. I've seen several different options. Also, does the computer have to be from an auto car or can it be re-programmed from a 6spd car? thanks

I had S&P make my harness,real happy with it!!!im not sure on the computer,call S&P and they can tell u!!let me know what part numbers u need,no prob!

I vote TKO500 or 600. T56 if you need the 6th gear

If you plan on making big power the 4L80E is a better choice with less headaches. Even a built 4L60E behind a healthy supercharged engine will be stressed and require rebuilds depending upon how much you beat on it and mileage. A 4L80E is basically a TH400 with overdrive and are stout. They are also heavy as hell. Ditch the stock torque convertor because it is a pig.

If you like manual transmissions..... get the T56. They can hold the power.

Thanks for the advice. I thought about this and wasn't for sure on how the 4l60 holds up. My plan is to make 7-800 horse. About 10 lbs of boost. I think as much as im going to drive it, i want to stick with an auto.

got a few more parts to body man. Got a computer on the way. Still looking for a 6.2 L92 block, if I don't find one by the end of the week, going to use a ls1 block.

I''ve got a built 4l65 behind my supercharged LS1 first gen @10psi, I did a ton of research before dropping the coin and unless I was going over 750 wheel it made more sense to do the 4l65. (might as well be a two speed, 1st and 2nd are usless! )

Thats what im going for about 700 + at the crank. Thats what i planned on running was 10 psi of boost. I'll have to look in to your thread. Did you put a factory tank with the fuel pump in it? thats my next step. got a computer the other day.

I've done a couple swaps using a techrods harness's, very pleased with looks, function and price.

think i found an ls3 block...been persuaded to start with the bigger block. Is a bare block worth 600?
