Javelins are cool in there own way, I tried to buy one in CA long ago, but the desert just tears up the cheap AMC parts!

 

Imo the amx just looks so much better.

I think it would be a shame to that to a Javelin or AMX if it was factory equipped with a 390 or 401. Those were stout little engines with forged steel crank and rods, and the aftermarket has decent support with heads, cams, and intakes. Sure they stock oiling system leave a bit to be desired, but it is easily remedied (similar to big block Buick engines).
