Default E38 ECM, Tach not working

Just finished my LY6 swap into my ****** MB.
I connected the tach as it was with the LM7 but now it does not work.
I read something about a 680 ohm resistor....but could not understand.
Can anyone explain me this please....but like I`m a 1st grade student

Normally if you connect a 680 ohm or 1k ohm resistor between the tacho input and 12V, you get a successfully operating tacho.

Yup exactly you need to boost the tach signal by adding a resistor inline with the tach feed. IIRC I used a 4K resistor on mine
