another update:

got alot done this week - removed the interior to prepare for the chassis shop, removed alot of old (and very scary) wiring, i need to re-do alot of the electrical stuff but i'll worry about it when it comes back from getting the cage.

for the cooling system i used a lower hose from a 78 malibu 6cylinder car and it fit perfectly after i trimmed about an inch off each end. for the upper hose i used an upper hose from 2002 LS1 camaro.

today i came home my buddy who owns the car stopped by with the carb and we bolted it on, hooked up the MSD(temporarily till i make a bracket and mount it inside the car), filled it up with fluids and it fired right up and ran like a top. aside from the fuel pump leaking everything else worked out great.

here's a few pics and a video of it just idling:

oh and we did a rough estimate of how much it cost to swap do this swap and so far i think he's at $2600 for me to get it running. here's a quick breakdown:

-2002 LS1 $1400
-parts sold that werent needed: harness, ecm, intake, accessory drive, MAF, etc -$1040
-electric water pump $480
-hughes flexplate $140
-BMR alternator bracket $120
-transdapt motor mounts $75
-Fbody pacesetter longtubes $280
-intake $600
-6LS MSD $300
-carb rebuild $125
-misc hardware, fittings, hoses, belt, fluids $120

keep in mind we had alot of major components such as the trans, converter, and carb(just needed a rebuild).

dont know about the part numbers, the upper is for a 98-2002 F-body, the lower is for a 78 malibu with a V6 (i trimmed it a little) these may not work with a stock type pump.

as for MY car, im not sure if im gonna keep the power steering just yet. hope to start working on that in the next week or 2
