Default Hooking up DBW?

Can anyone help me? There's like 5 wires on the pedal but 9 going to the plug, are the others not used? It was cut when I got it so basically I have the pedal, plug and wires and the module, plug and wires but there are more wires on the module than the pedal...

The other wires are for cruise control, there should be a gray, gray with black stripe, and a dark blue that go to the cruise switch. If you're not running cruise, you can get rid of them.

what year you working with here? 2003 to 2005 had a 10 position plug on each end, one end white, one end black. Some years had 9 wires, some only had 6 wires. From my understanding, from 2003+ only 6 wires were needed. In 2006, the gas pedal went to a smaller plug, but other end at the TAC module was still the same.

first attachment named "Engine Data Sensors - Electronic Throttle Controls.gif" is the 2006 schematic. Notice the pin location for the APP sensor (gas pedal) is 1,2,3,4,5,6. This is the small 6 pin.

The second attachment is specific to 2004 truck. Its labeled with letters. The schematic shows APP Sensors 1-3, however, I have seen these with just 2 of the 3 wired up. I can't remember exactly which one is not used.

pull the gas pedal to tac module jumper harness out of your 04 caddy and look at it.

I have no clue what years, they just gave it to me out of a silverado(junkyard). There are 9 wires on the module and 6 on the pedal.. Unfortunately I don't have the caddy any more. I just matched the colors up and yeah, didn't work lol..

None of the cruise control wires go between the TAC and the pedal.

It looks like you have a 2003'ish TAC module (3 APP sensors) and a 2005'ish pedal (2 APP sensors).

You need a different pedal or a different TAC module, but the OS (year, mainly) inside your PCM would dictate which part you need to change out.

There's some good 2003-2004 (3 APP sensor) schematics here on pages 1 and 3: https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagn...al-travel.html

This is correct - none of the wires between the TAC module and the pedal go to the cruise control.

I'm not so sure about this, though I could be just lucky. I am successfully running a 1997-04 Corvette DBW system (TAC module, throttle body, pedal) on a 2006 Sierra 2500HD PCM and harness. I think the important thing is to make sure the TAC module, throttle body, and pedal are all compatible. If that's the case, you can use them (together) on a wide range of LS-based vehicles. Of course, the PCM should be from a DBW vehicle that uses a TAC module. (Some PCMs are not DBW, and some of the later DBW systems do not use TAC modules.)

PM me if you need any wiring diagrams.

I'm not so sure either, but I know something is different between 2004 and 2006 OS's for the pedal (at the very least).

To avoid buying any other mismatched stuff, I'd recommend going by the year/make/model of the OS when getting a TAC/pedal.

Before he posted the pics, I thought he was refering to his engine harness was cut before the TAC, the other plug.

The wires you are holding up from the TAC tell me you have the 3-sensor TAC, but I'm not so sure if using the 2 sensor TAC/Pedal with a PCM configured for 3 sensors will work or not.

A - Gray
B - Purple
C - Lt Blue
D - Tan
E - Yellow/Black
F - Blue
G - White/Black
J - Brown
K - Green

At the pedal, they need to be mapped like this:

TAC - PEDAL
A-A
K-K
E-J
B-B
C-C
D-D
J-E
F-F
G-G

You could try to pin the TAC-Pedal cable like above, it might work just fine. I'm not sure if they actually use a different pedal sensor, or if they just don't hook up the 3rd APP circuit in the later years.

I've gone through 3 different pedal/ tac set ups in every combo possible and nothing works. I don't know what to do right now, what's the deal? Can the TB go bad?
