73 Corvette LS1 Conversion

After two years of collecting parts, I am finally beginning my LS1 conversion:

I have a LS1 and 4L60E from a 2000 Camaro to install. Doing a lot of other stuff while I am at it. Figure it will take a year or more to complete (lots of other stuff going on in my life that competes with my time). Will do my best to update the blog for those that want to watch the progress.

I will be doing an LS3 T56 in my 72 this fall. I have the LS3 and already am running a T56 in the car. Looking to put in Vintage Air also.

My car has factory A/C and it works but leaks. It had pressure in it when I bought it so I put a little R-410a in it and was surprised it blew cold. Dumped the charge and filled it with R-12. Worked better but still not cold enough. Decided I could dump a lot of money in the factory system and still have a subperforming system or could buy new. My youngest brother has owned two vehicles with Vintage Air and swears by them. That is all the recommendation I needed.

I plan on using Kwik Performance brackets for the compressor. Also want to find a vendor willing to work with me on the setup. Need serpentine belt drive instead of V-belt and want the refrigerant connections to exit out of the back of the compressor instead of the top.
