2008 2500 6.0 with 823 heads. 81 vette swap!
I found a 2008 6.0 low miles. Is this a LQ4 or LQ9 or what. I have been looking for a LS1 with a 6/speed and have had no luck. So Im going to do a 6.0 6/speed instead.
Do I need to get the wire harness and computer with it?? or because Im going to have to have a Fbody intake and T/B am i going to need a F/body computer?? and aftermarket harness? This 6.0 has a drive by wire T/B. Not sure if I need a Cable or DBW T/B..
Gonna need your help here guys. Thanks.
Oh, will a 98/2002 T56 work on the 2008 6.0. Not sure if they have the crank drilled out for a pilot bearing.

A 2009 6.0l with 823 (l92 heads) is very possibly a ly6 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Vortec_engine#LY6 ) It will have VVT. It could be the l76 also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Vortec_engine#L76 ... the l76 had DOD and not something I would want.
I personally am using a Ly6 and carb'ing it for my 1968 Nova.
Good luck with your project!

Most likely you are looking at an LY6.
It could also be an L96 if it's a flexfuel model. I don't know the differences between the LY6 and L96, but from what I understand they are very close to the same.
I don't think they put the L76 into the 2500s. That L76 is used in the "VMAX" version of the truck which I think is only in the 1500s. Yes the L76 has DOD (aka AFM), but it also has an aluminum block.
