Boosted ls1 240sx pcm power question
#21
Did you modify your fuel pump relay? I had the same problem as you and once you ground the relay, I fixed my problem. The output from the PCM needs to be reversed to control the s-chassis relay.

Man it sounds more like the wiring is fucked off to me..
Make sure you have power on the pins that I mentioned up in my other post.. for the PCM to communicate with HP Tuners you need PCM Blue 58 to go to Pin #2 on the OBDII DLC. On that there should be 4 wires.. #2 is the Serial Data for the PCM, #4 & #5 are grounds, #16 is 12v Constant off of the battery.
No power to the Coils is just a pink wire that needs to be powered from the Fuse Box.
Check continuity on the Crank Sensor wires..make sure they are going to the correct spots on the PCM.
Who built the Harness?

Everything on the obd-2 connector is in working order now, which is why the corvette pcm connected but not the GTO pcm, both pcms have the same pin 58 serial data wire. It has power and ground and connection.
The coils have power so do the injectors but there not getting pulse from the pcm.
The crank sensor has 12v power and ground and all three wires have been checked for continuity and passed, plus brand new gm crank sensor.

Did you turn off the VATS in the computer? From what I recall reading if thats not turned off it kills the coils to prevent it from starting hence why the voltage drops when you try to crank it.

We fixed the voltage drop during cranking, now it has 10v during crank, but no signal from the pcm to fire the coils or injectors.
Im not sure if this is an Auto Pcm but if im not mistaking if the pcm doesnt see a ground source for being in park or neutral it only disengages the starter. correct me if im wrong.

I just got off the phone with a friend that has a running lq9 with lsa heads he ran a test with DMM on his crank sensor and he got : 12v power, ground and the signal was giving 2-5 volts while cranking the motor (not starting it). Hope this info help anybody else down the road with a LS1 Swap.
