I blew up my motor a couple weeks back and I'm just wondering what engines are best compatible with my 98 trans am. I'm looking for the best bang for my buck, considering that my budget is very limited. I'm looking only to spend around 5000 on a swap. Any recommendations are appreciated.

If your budget is only 2000 I would just look for a use ls1 and drop it in
