Default Y-Pipe Fitment

Here's a couple around the trans oil pan.
The back end of the y-pipe is up in the tunnel a bit. Not sure how it will clearance with the aluminum driveshaft, yet. Just happy to have headers and y-pipe fitted.

Default Y-Pipe Fitment

Well, the y-pipe is not fitted. It contacts the driveshaft! Bruce told me to rotate the pass pipe till I got clearance. Here are some pics. This can't be right because I'm still contacting the driveshaft even though the pipe is now directly under the driveshaft; BUT, the pass side y-pipe is facing towards the ground. No Way, Bruce! Look at the y-pipe collector - that should be fairly flat and horizontal to the ground if fitted correctly.

Default Y-Pipe Fitment

Here is what I think it should look like, but it still contacts the driveshaft! Here, the pipe is no longer directly under the driveshaft. You can see that I rotated the pipe clock-wise to this position.
IMO, I may have to bend down the pipe at the bend before the collector is attached in order to get driveshaft clearance!

Default Trans Cable attachment

I had to invert the shift bracket off the 700R4 and make the cuts shown in the pic, then re-weld. Also, I trimmed the lip of the trans pan for clearance, as well. It is very tight. The other pics show the cable attachment.
The movement of the cable is backward (away from header and towards rear of car) and arching upward. So the tight fit is in Park, and the clearance gets better as the linkage shifts up & backward.

I drilled holes in the PCM plastic bracket and zip tied the new ones to it - I cut the ties after the pic. The plastic bracket went right up with no probs.
I also mounted an xtra diagnostic port to the kick panel - I'll clip in the real one when I'm ready to button it all up.
Have three wires left: a long green speedo wire; a very short 12v brake light wire; and a nest of optional auto trans wires (I'll just tuck these up out of the way).
I have the dakota boxes to wire in, too. Then I'm done w/interior wiring!
