I little more info or Links would be nice.. remember, you do get what you pay for.. ! If it is the GM Muscle Car pan. I'd pass.. you get a +7" rear sump.. as someone calls it.. aka.. A Skid Plate..

Might work for truck and cars that are at least stock height, Pan will hand down anyware from 1 1/2" to +2" below your crossmember, depending on how you mount the engine.

But it is a good price if it fits your application..

I have the GM Muscle Car pan, and i didnt think it was an issue till i went over a speed Hump over 5MPH, Im glad it didnt brake my pan or worse, Im going to Build a skid plate off of my crossmember to save my Pan from more damage.

I would go with the Holley/Retro LSX pan. or the F-body pan if i were to do it again.

Just found it.. http://www.jegs.com/i/GM+Performance...12593/10002/-1

as I though it would be.. Muscle Car kit. I would not recommend for cars, but great for truck and great price for it. seem to have dropped about $20+ .. or so..

I have one and it's a good pan but does hang down too low for most applications - including muscle cars of the 60's or nearly anything with altered suspension.

I just ordered this earlier today. I purchased the holley pan because it has the shallow depth for proper clearance, baffle, as well as a stock mounting oil filter. The one I bought also came with the pickup.

$363 on Amazon.com
part# Holley 302-1

So the Muscle Car pan is rear sump? I have the front sump GTO oil pan right now for my swap (into an 01 Lincoln LS), and if I want to keep it, I'll have to mount the engine forward by about 3 inches for it to clear the rack and k member.

I'll do some more measurements tomorrow to try to see if it's possible to push the engine back farther so the rear sump would go behind the steering rack using the muscle car pan, but I doubt it.

If that doesn't work, are there any front sump oil pans that have a shorter sump (that are reasonably priced)? Is the H3 pan front or rear?

H3 is a rear sump. Gto pan is the only one I know of with a front sump. You might have to look into a corvette dry sump (?) or whatever they call it where it's a separate unit from the engine if your Lincoln has rear steer

I bought my CTS-V oil pan setup for $100 brand new. A lot of the guys who bought LS^ crate motors came with the CTS-V oil pan so they dont use them and take them off. Also gives awesome ground clearance.

Talk to them because I don't think that price includes the oil filter adapter. Also this is the same as the Autokraft pan. JR Mfg makes it for Autokraft, but also sells it under their own name "Champ". I ordered mine through Autokraft because JR Mfg recommended I do. Apparently the design was a collaboration.
