LQ4 proper operating temperature?
It's a mark 8 fan on a 4 core, so when I turn it on, basically the temp stops climbing. In my old 383, if I turned on the fan at 160, that is where it would stay.
Is 200 degrees too hot? What temp should I be shooting for? What I notice with this setup is that it will go on at 197 and then go up to 200, and basically stay between those numbers. Is it better to have one steady temperature like this, or to say, have it go on at say 185 and off at 175?
Also, will running at 200 degrees down to the tuner (70 miles away) be a problem for an iron block with aluminum heads (ls3)?

With regards to your temperature readings....The few degree temperature rise is probably due to the delay in the reading at the ECM. Even though you see the temperature rise on the computer, in reality, the coolant temperature in the radiator is going down.
By the way, what thermostat are you running?
