I believe you can buy a three bolt LS2 cam gear for the front mounted 4x cam sensor that should be compatible with the gen4 5.3L. Call CompCams for a definite answer.

So I am brand new to this forum.
I have a 2009 Chevy Avalanche with the 5.3L LMG backed by the 6L80E six speed automatic trans, and unfortunately the 3.08 stock rear end with a limited slip diff.

I plan to swap to 3.73 gears for better torque application down low and better pull

I am looking into getting more engine parts, first off though, do LS1 parts fit on a 5.3? Isn't a 5.3 part of the LSx series?

Here is my plan if LS1 parts swap over to my 5.3 heads:
COMP cam
COMP valves
COMP springs
COMP retainer clips
COMP roller rockers
FAST intake manifold
FAST throttle body
bigger injectors
custom CAI
custom tune

I don't want anything TOO extreme, I just want some cam lope and also more lower end torque and all around power.

Here's a good run down of what's involved.

http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/front...take-swap.html

As psiconversion expressed, the 5.3 has a 5 pin MAF because the IAT (incoming air temp) sensor is built in. The LS1 MAF has two different sensors....a 3 pin MAF and a two pin IAT. Will a 5.3 MAF run an LS1? Good question...

Default Ev1 connector?

Was it an adaptor to go from your truck harness to the 5.7 injectors or did you splice them yourself

Ev1 is the ls1 injector plug type you can cut the truck style plug off and put ev1 plug on harness

So to ask my dumb *** portion of the same question which seems to have been answered but I want to be clear:

05 5.3 LM7 + LS6 Intake and Injectors + 411 PCM....would it be suggested to run the LS1 (or other) style MAF and IAT (harness is getting custom made to my setup)?

No Crank Sensor or Cam Sensor on the block at this moment so a recommendation as to which ones to use would be helpful Cheers
