steering too soft !
before i go crazy trying to figure out how to get more steering feedback, i need to know if any of u guys have run into this problem. i installed an LS3 with the corvette front drive in my 72 camaro and used the original style (for 72 ) steering box. it has the fast ratio internals of the 3rd gen iroc z. the problem is that the steering is SUPER soft, well, like they were back in the day. i guess my question is, does anyone make a restrictor valve or something to give a more modern rack and pinion feel or am i stuck with the grandma grocery getter feel ? thanks.

People with g-bodies tend to have the opposite effect where the steering starts to feel "twitchy". The solution is to put the pump restrictor valve from the G-body pump into the new one, thus matching pressures. Maybe you could try the same thing?? or use a smaller pulley??

This is a common problem in street rods using Saginaw pump and Mustang rack. A smaller pulley on the pump speeds up the pump causing pressure to build faster. A larger pulley will slow it down. The most common answer is a restrictor or pressure valve spring. I believe Bills Hot Rod Shop still offers the recalibration valve.

ill look into the valve kit. thanks. oh, and the front swaybar is like a sewer pipe.LOL. it has a hoshkis 1 3/8'' hollowbar that came with the TVS kit i put on the car. the steering isnt sloppy, just zero steering effort.
