Default Quick-Mod on how to mount a 11" Brake Booster into a LQ4 A-Body

A 11" brake booster does clear a LQ4 swap into a A-body... with the modification of the closet coil pack.

My car is 1965 Chevelle(4 Door Sedan - Does not that it makes a difference), LH8 Oil Pan, with BRP mounts.

Remove the last coil pack on the driver-side closest to the firewall and unplug everything going to it.

Remove the bracket mounting screw that connects the coil bracket to the valve cover(right of the coil pack you just removed).

Buy a small All-Thread Rod(M6 1.00 Pitch) from your local True Value Hardware, 2 M6 Nuts, 3 M6 Washers and a Steel Spacer(or you can cut some thick steel tubing).

Thread the All-Thread Rod into the bracket mounting screw you removed, stop once it's a little ways in.

Throw on a M6 washer and a M6 nut and tighten it down.

Now you should should basically have something that looks like the bracket mounting screw you originally removed... just it's longer so you can mount your coil pack to it.

Take the coil pack that you removed earlier and rotate it 180 degrees from how it was originally mounted to the bracket.

Place the top hole of the coil onto the excess threaded rod. You will notice it sits nicely right next to the bracket since its upside down.

Take your steel spacer or tubing, mark it so it makes up for the space needed and then cut it down to size. At this point I painted my steel spacer black.

Once the paint has dried come back to the car and removed the coil pack from the mounting thread.

Place the stock spark plug wire onto the coil pack(make sure its on securely).

Insert the spacer you painted onto the threaded rod, put a washer on top of it. Then slide the coil back onto the threaded rod just you did before(this time with the spacer underneath it).

Add the last washer and a nut and tightened it all down.

Take a Dremel and cut off the excess all thread rod.

Plug back the "harness plug"(does not need to be modified).

Done.

This is what your finished produced should look like:

Hope that helps.
