F-Body Pan
F-Body Pan Well guys, i decided to change out the oil pan on the 72 camaro. Took the family out yesterday for some meet and greet christmas cheer stuff and found out 2 1/2- 3 inches isnt enough clearance with the muscle car pan. My kit (BMR) is compatible with the f-body pan so after double checking the measurements , i started looking around for a used pan. I guess someone forgot to tell me that used f-body pans have a high gold content. It took me 10 minutes to find a dealer with brand new pans with all the supporting stuff ( pan , baffle, bolts, gasket, pick-up and a new filter ) for the same price as the used pans without all the stuff people are selling. WHATS UP WITH THAT ? Anyway, i hope i can get that thing on without pulling the engine all the way out. Anybody ever tried to change out pans on a second gen with an LS motor, without pulling the motor. Looks like i have about 2-3 inches i can raise the motor if i unbolt the headers.
