Default Engine harness compatability

I searched a bit and didn't come up with anything to answer my question.

Last night I purchased a LQ9 out of a 04 H2.

I found a engine harness that is from a Trailblazer ss, and the add says it's compatible with 06-09. Would all the plugs be the same for my engine, or would I have to swap some? I plan on using a drive by wire also for the throttle body and a 700r4.

Thanks
Ben

Your 04 is a 24x engine that ran a green/blue 242 style PCM. The trailblazer SS had a 24x LS2 in 2006. It used the E40 ECM. While both controllers are 24x, they use completely different PCM connections, Cam connector is on timing cover (on TBSS) and both knock sensors are 2 wire located on either side of the engine block (on TBSS). I would recommend you find a 99-07 truck harness, 99-02 f-body harness, or buy a PSI harness.

Sounds like it's possible, the only reason I'm thinking about using this harness is I can pick it up for a ridiculous deal like under a $80 bucks.

My main concern is if the connecters will work even if I need to modify lengths.

Thanks

If you are sticking with DBW it could work but I think you would be better off finding sometihing that was closer to the engine/intake application you will be using. Main differences would be...

PCM, INJECTORS, CAM LOCATION, KNOCKS AND KNOCK LOCATION, TB (TBSS is 6 pin, Hummer is 8 pin). All I can think of off the top of my head.

Drive by Cable you will have to go with the red/blue 411 style PCM (yes there are a few green/blue PCMs out there that would work but the 411 is more common). You will have to change the above items I listed in previous post. COULD you convert the E40 harness to work with a 411 PCM, Yes, but its like opening a walnut with a backhoe. You would be better off just getting a car or truck harness or buying aftermarket.

Ok I see your reasoning, by change do you mean change connectors? I got word from the seller it's a 08 harness

Thank you very much for answering my questions.

If its an 08, it is a 58x controller (E38). Different controller but same issues. Yes, the issues would be the connectors need to be changed.

04 H2 should have been an lq4 not an lq9
