Thanks. Luckily for me wet sanding and buffing hides lots of rookie errors.

It's 04 competition orange, it's a little brighter the '96 tangerine orange although in that lighting it looks a bit dull.

Yeah no kidding. I knew it would be a handful and glad I did it myself but it will be a long time before I jump into this kind of job again.

Rear quarter, door and roof are done except for a couple touch up spots I need to do. I'll have the body done before the weekend so I can reassemble everything.

Looks great man! Your the one that sold me on holly efi. The auto tune for part throttle street tuning is where it will shine.

I'm doing a 88mm 5.3, th400, holly efi 93 coupe

Thanks. Pretty much the same combo I'll have here in the future. I have a TH350 for now but once the rest of the car is done I plan on building a TH400.

Finished the body last night. I just have a few touch ups to do on a couple of spots. I did run into one problem that I might have to live with. I got solvent pop in drips in three different spots. The drip is sanded out smooth but you can see little air bubbles trapped between between the layers of clear. All three is good sized and noticeable. I'm going to pick one and carefully sand it with 1000 grit and see if I can sand it down to the bubbles without going through all the clear.

Other than that I'll be assembling the rest of the body this weekend.

I got a lot of the body assembled but it was slow going especially on the door locks and handles. You tend to forget things after 4 months. I also tinted the 3rd brake light and tail lights. Hard to tell from the picture but they are smoked about as much as the headlights are.

Car looks good. Is that a red or an orange my eyes are getting old. Also I got confused in the rear end section are you using a 99 up 8.8? Also can you post a pic of the inside tire clearance with your set up with the drag radials on it again?
I want to run a bulit specialties 12" wheel with slightly wider tire and move the coil overs to inside the frame and notch the area where the factory spring and shock were located. Im using a fox rearend so I know it will narrower than your rear end.

Oh yeah my car is a 95 vert with an l33 with ls6 heads and carb. What is your car weighing now with the nitrous kit installed?

Thanks, Doug

It's competition orange from an 04 Mach 1.

The rear I didn't know was a 99+ until after the 9" ends we welded on and noticed the axles were too short. The rear was already in the car when I bought it so I assumed it was the correct one. We ended up cutting it down about an inch on each side (slightly narrower than a 94-98 rear). Then I had to add some small spacers (1/8" I think). My rear tires have about 1/8-3/16" of space between the inner fender and tire. In fact my first test drive I was leaving a trail of smoke because the rear axle wasn't perfectly centered and was rubbing. It wasn't rubbing along the inside part of the inner fender thought it was rubbing the front corner of the fenderwell even after I had massaged it with a BFH. Without mini tubs I don't see how you are putting a 12" wheel in there with a bigger tire. Even with the same tire stretched on a 12" wheel it might be sticking outside the fender well. A fox body rear axle in an SN-95 and you are going to need to use wheel spacers or cut out a lot of metal.

The car was 3160-3170lbs with the nitrous kit and full bottle.

Looking at your car I am hoping that the wheel sticks out a little father than yours and the section of the 13.5 is not much more than yours. Infact the 12 inch wheel flattens out the sidewall a little. I may be kidding my self and end up with a mini tub

Hopefully your not judging it by the rollers on the car now while I'm working on it. The 15x10s with 275's fit a lot better. I had the car about 2" lower but the tire would hit the inner fender on bumps towards the top corner of the tire and was really close to the outer fender even with the rolled edges. If you keep it my ride height or taller you have more room.

Not sure if this will help but there is a picture of my clearance.

Your torque boxes look great for a drag car.

It spent it's first 18 years with a V6 under the hood so it didn't see too much abuse. I had the torque boxes welded shortly after that picture, before I took it to the track.

New front windshield and the old back glass put in and buttoned up the remaining exterior panels. I wanted a couple of pictures before I pull the hood and front bumper off to pull the engine out.
