Time for an update. My steel building is pretty far along however still have electric and a lift but the car has sat too long so it's time to revive it. I'm going to be switching to a Holley high ram and 417 motorsports intercooler. 417 just started doing a chopped down version of the high ram lower so I'm having them modify the one I bought so I can drop it in without having to re-engineer the entire car. Knowing how this still intercooler has had issues in the past (vortech igloo on SBF's) I'm a bit hesitant to drop it on a fully built engine. So I picked up a low mileage stock 6.0 shortblock from a 2009 and I'll swap over my heads, cam and other misc parts and put the car back together. I'll also be adding 160lb injectors and a water tank in the trunk for the intercooler.
The idea is to see if this allows me to keep the SBE alive longer than my 5.3 did by keeping the IAT's in check (I'll be adding a bung in the lower for an IAT sensor for a post IC reading). Also this will allow me to see how the short runner intake will work and chase out any problems with this style IC. I plan on building an engine but don't want to trash a new Dart block experimenting with a new set up.

No not with their intercooler but problems with that style of intercooler. Mainly with core leaks and locking up engines. Their IC seems to be a very high quality piece but based on previous history I'm going to be cautious before I build a high dollar engine and find out it's going to give me issues.

Sorry I missed your posts about the weight. I want to say it was 3150 with me in it which would put the dry weight at 2930 when it was NA/Nitrous. Keeping the car streetable there is only so much more weight I can pull. I'm still using the stock V6 cast iron front calipers so there is some weight there and I could go to an aluminum block. Any other things I could do for weight reduction start making it illegal for any kind of true street class (optic armor glass, glass doors).

Looks like my direction is changing slightly with the engine going in the car. The SBE I picked up 2 months ago is junk and the seller is no longer on facebook so I have a pretty expensive 6.0 block.
Been so busy I put the shortblock on the stand but didn't look at it till last week and found that a valve had dropped hitting number 4. Most of the rod bearings had damage due to debris and the crank looked ok till I pulled the number 3 main and found a scratch in it. Also found a couple of the cylinders had rust damage from water being left in it.
The block will be fine with a 30 over bore so I'll get this block machined and get a 408 rotating assembly for it. I got the lower intake back from 417 and I have the Dart heads from my previous engine so I just need the shortblock built.
