Default started my car without the slip yoke in... fluid leaking out??

i started my car for the first time(lq4) with a used 4l80e transmission i picked up locally

i started my car without the slip yoke/driveshaft instaled and it was dripping oil from the end of the trans/output shaft while the engine was on

is this normal?

Yes, fluid flows near the back to lubricate the bushing for the output shaft. The yoke seals the back of the transmission.
