The front disc brakes are an easy find if you live near some salvage yards. I used the spindles, rotors, calipers and brackets off a 72 Monte Carlo. You will need to switch the part on the spindle that connects to the outer tie rod ends as yours is a rear steer. They merely bolt on and are easy to switch out. I gave $150 for the complete setup. I am unsure how much they are going for now. I looked on my local resto parts dealer and the pair of spindles alone are $150 with bolts. You can order them and have them shipped to your house. You would have $350 in front disc brakes though. Do some checking around and see if your salvage yards carry older vehicles. If so I am sure they will have a early 70's Monte or equivalent laying around. I did go ahead and swap out the calipers for some reman'd ones and used the junk yard ones as cores. I also installed new bearings and races. As far as the back, I would swap the drums out for now and wait till you had everything else completed before dumping a ton on some trick disc brakes out back. Thats just my opinion. That is a project you can tackle after the fact and will give you time to look for a good deal like the rearend you stole!! Lol!!!

You must have one cool wife! I dont think my wife has ever held a car part and smiled about it. My wife usually looks similar to the devil while holding parts. Now you put a pair of shoes in her hand and, well, thats a whole other story!!! Headers look great, wheres the rest of the kit? You know all of this parts buying is the fun part, right? Lol!!!

I used the front disc brake set up from a Chevelle. As Snow said, I had to swap a few of the parts side-to-side, but it all fit on well. The rear that I'm using now is an 8.5 10 bolt out of a Nova. Slightly larger than the '69 Camaro's original 8.2" unit, the 8.5" 10 bolt is supposed to be equivalent to the famed 12 bolt rear.

I have 420hp to the rear wheels now with an all steel 69 Camaro with a manual CPP master 1" bore and I stop just fine. I didnt have much choice with my old setup as my vacuum was around 2 inches and I wasnt running a vac can. Its all about preference. Of course I dont run power steering either.
