Default 350Z LS2 Project

Hi everybody,

In a few months, I will start a first V8 swap in a 350Z in Spain. It's for this reason, I'd like you would help me with some doubts I may have.

The next month, I'll recieve a LS2 from a wrecked Corvette. This engine doesn't have neither tranny (T56), ECU, nor wiring harness. These last, as you can see in the photos, they have just been cut.

At this moment, I've contacted with Justin from SIKKY to talk about what I need to make the swap, but I still have some questions.

I can see in the Sikky page, two headers measures. 1 3/4 designed to work under 500hp and the other, 1 7/8 for working +500hp. My idea is to upgrade the camshaft during the swap process to obtain around 500hp.

My doubt is if there is any problem in mounting 1 7/8 headers with less than 500hp, which I'll add later with a compressor or any other methods.

Another doubt, there are some electronic parts which I'd like to know if may keep or I'll lose them, such as the ABS, Cruise control, dash board, airbags, throttle, etc.

A final question is about ECUs. I don't know if I need to buy the LS2 ECU and an aftermarket, just the LS2 with 350Z or what? I'm just confused

Thanks in advance
Jose.

P.S. If anyone speaks Spanish it'll be great!

Thanks Fanfoe,

The chasebays option, Justin had already told:

Then my tech takes those and wires together all the necessary plugs and connectors. This conversion service costs $550USD plus shipping. The other option is a Chase Bays/Sikky Spec harness. We recently teamed up with wiring specialists Chase Bays to offer this option. This gives you a brand new made from scratch harness. For the 350z it is required to send in your upper and lower Nissan harnesses still. With this option it will cost $600USD plus shipping. Hopefully I was able to answer your questions. Thanks and let me know if you need anything else.
What do you think? Do you believe I have to follow his advice and do it through SIKKY and his Chase Bays option, or directly talk with Chase Bays?

About the E40 ECU and VATTS, I don't know about it, and I'll look for information.

About High torq mini starter, I don't understand this.

About the headers, What is LTH??

Thanks for everything.

Cool project. I'm swapping an L33 into an FC RX-7. Light imports with big power from a V8 should be a lot of fun.

Correct me if Im wrong but if that is a Corvette Engine, should be 58x, you need an E38 ECM not an E40.

If it is a 2005 it is a 24x. If it is a 2006-2007 it is a 58x. Take a look at your crank sensor and let us know what color it is.

Correct about the 58 or 24. E38 for 58x and e40 for 24x.
Mini starter wraped because heat soak from the long tube headers.
Just go through chase bays for the harness, they have a great looking harness. I got mine from sikky and thinking about buying one to replace it from chase bays or do it myself. I have a 406 stroker LS2 in my G35 and it way too much fun to drive.

If its a 2006 you need an E38 not an E40. Crank sensor is located right behind the starter.

What year Z is it going into? My brother had a 2007 Sunburst Orange 350Z, I loved that thing. Pretty quick with stock motor in it. went 13.4 at 105 I believe. I can't imagine how fun it would be with a ~400whp lsx in it!

Sorry for my ignorance but I have some doubts about any parts.

I saw the Summit page and I can see the dual core radiators, master cylinders, stsarters... and I don't know what is the the good choice.

Wilwwod Master cylinder. Is good?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WIL-260-6766/

CSR Mini High Torque Starter. Is good?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CSI-109S/

The list of Dual core Radiators. What I have to take?
http://www.summitracing.com/search/?...Radiator&dds=1

Thanks in advance.

P.S. When this doubts are solved, I'll have the Parts list finished and I'll copy&paste here.

Sikky.com Master Cylinder will be fine. Just do the drill mod with 4an stainless lines.from MC to T56 and 3an for bleeder valve.

Very cool project you're taking up. I'm looking to start an FD project over the summer after school gets out. Should be a very fun car once it's done.

For a little inspiration you can take a look at these links:

http://fatlace.com/life/welcome-home/

http://fatlace.com/life/350z-ls1-dri...most-complete/

http://fatlace.com/life/stage-4-phas...ome-part-love/

If you click on the authors name at the top right of the article you can view more parts of the build that he has written. This guy has been working on his LSx 350Z for a while now. He had a lot of custom fab work done to the car due to it being a drift car but just giving you something to look at. He also lists all of his parts/prices at the bottom of the page giving you an idea of how much you will spend on certain things. Good luck with the build man. Keep us updated.

I don't understand nothing. What is "4an" I don't know this expression. The bleeder valve is for get out air from hidraulic circuit? Sorry but I know the expressions in my language and I can hardly understand you.

So that I do, buy the SIKKY master cylinder or not?

Another question. What is the correct fuel pump?
