stuff that I have
Could you send me some pics of your car with the wheels on it davedash327@hotmail.com . I would like to use the parts I have. I have 245's (4) already but I guess I could sell and get different tires. I called MM and they said use 99-04 spindles but every one says use 94-95 ones but I have 04's. With the diff, I guess I could use s197 wheels and never considered it. I took the stock kmember out in one piece and the spindles are on there good and the tie rod ends would come off, 24 years of rust. So.... I was going to put the stock brakes and spindles on just to get to get it going but now I might put the big brakes on now. I am going to buy a new ps rack as well. I guess i have to get a better plan.

Subscribed.. I don't think I have ever seen a notch this color. I had a converted 93 (4cyl to 5.0) coupe in silver and always wanted to do a gloss "battleship gray" respray.
Aside from a LS swap the 94+ front/rear & Cobra brake swap is one of the best things you can do to a Fox. The car will stop on a dime, looks bada**, & five lug wheel options are unlimited. May have to remove or flip the quad shocks but 10.5 wheels and the tires to match out back look awesome and leave a nice footprint. Aside from an expensive set of CCWs a set of the staggered FR500s would look awesome in about any of the colors they offer (I'm a fan of chrome lol.)
I love the Ford motors but after spending over $7,000 on building my 347 I was very disappointed. At 50% the cost a cammed LQ4 with a 50 shot would have given me the same results lol. Keep the updates coming. Helps keep my motivation up on dropping money on my next project.
BTW.. HAHA @ newb comment about Machs having IRS. That comment came out of nowhere lol.

It is called, Light grey. I buy the cars on condition and look past the paint color. Except black. Won't buy black. I wish it was white or red but it is grey....Just like my last one. It was a 89 15,000mile hatch and way to nice to hack up so i sold it. Seen a trunk in this months 5.0 mag and it has chrome 10th aniversry cobra wheels on it and looks real good.

control arms are in and note the bolts are m16 120mm. Don't give ford 50 bucks gave house of bolts 8 dollars. Bought a new rack and put on the tie rod ends. Just have to figure out the best way to drill a 5/8 hole in the spindles.

I dont have a tubular k-member yet in my 86 coupe but i do have 10th anniversary cobra brakes all the way around and i used 03 cobra control arms and spindles to on my car. the 03 cobra control arms are a little shorter than the rest and my tires do not stick out. on the rear you can run North Racecars brake caliper brackets (http://northracecars.com/5lugreardisc.html) and use the stock 8.8 that came in your car. you can swap all of the guts over to it except the axles. those you will have to buy or get them out of a ranger.
Oh you are correct on the Mach1 brakes except they are 11.65" in the rear.
Im looking at getting the AFCO K-member for my car when I do my swap. Check that one out, its beefy as hell.

here are a few pics of my rear brake setup

master cylinder
so what booster are you gonna use and booster. I see LRS mustang sells a kit and does not change the booster and they use 96-04 spindles. I am thinking that they use those spindles because they can't get the 94-95 to sell. Maximum motorsports states to use 96-04 spindles too. That kmember looks good and the price is good as well, mounts $69. I bought my suspension 6 years ago and am just getting around to using it.

I did the 4 wheel disc swap. You'll want to go with the 94-95 spindles. The newer ones will make your wheels stick out too far. I did the north race cars brackets and axles. I used the braided adapter lines from MM and a booster from a 95 as well. It has been one of the best upgrades I have made to my car.

currently im using the stock 86 booster, master cylinder and proportioning valve. the brakes are a little spongy but i still need to bleed them more. under an emergency stop, it will damn near do an endo. if you can find control arms for a 03-04 Cobra or a 2000 Cobra R, get them. Then you can use the 04 Cobra spindles without any issues. Plus it GREATLY improves the handling of the car. My car handles real good. So good I am probably not going to change the control arms at all.
