Boring it .030" will net you 6 cubes (.1 litre). If it doesn't need it, stick with a hone. You'll hit 500 hp at the flywheel, but I doubt you'll see 500 at the wheels N/A with that setup. And I'd reconsider the 102 TB with an L76 intake, as well as the cam -- talk to Patrick G instead. Scroll down to the bottom of this post to see rwhp numbers for LS2/L92 setups.

there is a car show the 24th in apache jct at phelps and the trail. my car won't be done i would love to see some of the ones here in az that have been done and helped me with the motivation and answers doing my projects.
there is also a small car show at the aravipa community college in aravipa on the 8th of april. The aravipa one is real small and just helping to raise money and support for a small satellite campus.
thanks

well, the e/i flow ratio for rectangular-port heads is less than the ideal 80% or so. most cam manufacturers have a greater exhaust duration than intake to make up for the relative lack of flow -- look at that post i linked to, the vast majority are running an e/i duration ratio > 1. The Mega Death cam was made for cathedral ports, so is NOT optimized for rec-port engines.

also, notice nobody's making over 500 to the wheels. you're going to need cubes and/or boost to make 500 whp. Patrick G started a thread in the dyno results section with some LS3/L92 head findings... it's worth reading.

my recommendation? stroke it, and enjoy the fun. I ended up with forged pistons and rods, but kept the 3.622" crankshaft for 370 cubes. Dyno results have shown the rec-ports love more cubes, and I've been kicking myself ever since deciding not to go bigger.

So I should either do the 243 heads with a Megadeath OR get a smaller cam and bore and stroke it...that's what you're saying right?

Id say if you going to do the l92 heads, boring it .030 would be a good thing as far as unshrouding the valves.

You should pick up a set of ported 243's and a custom cam from Pat G. Also look into an LS6 intake or fast 102/102 setup..

valve shrouding is when the edge of a valve is in close proximity to the combustion chamber or cylinder wall. it makes it difficult for the fuel/air charge to enter the chamber. the large 2.165" intake valve makes for a tight squeeze using the smaller 4" bore.

patrick g charges $25 to spec out a cam, which goes toward the $500 total cost to have one ground for your application. that's on par with most aftermarket cams. check that link i provided above for his info.

honestly, it's not difficult to toss a set of L92s on a 4" bore, have a vendor (or pat g) spec out a cam, and hit 400 hp to the wheels. if your goal is 500 though, you're going to have to do a little more

A custom nitrous cam, ported 243's, and a 150 shot would easily make 500-550

Well Nitrous is a definite no go because there is no replacement for displacement! and why get a custom cam when you can most likely find an aftermarket cam with the same specs? just gotta research and do your homework
