Default Ls1's with dress-up parts... or PAINTED blocks

Ok, I am getting ready to start cleaning up the engine and figuring our which dress-up items I would like to get. Mark IXZD 150's engine is something I have been lusting after ever since I have seen the pics. So, I would like to see anyone else that has a lot of dress-up items on their LS1 to help out with the ideas.

Also, most of the engine's I see have bare aluminum blocks. But, I have an Iron block... so I need to paint it. I am wondering if I should paint the heads also. Anyone out there have pics of painted LS1's to help me decide??

I sort of like the look of this one:

BTW: does anyone know where I can get an engine/tranny stand like the one in that pic?

Here is a semi-recent pic:

Note that the billet stuff from MBA isnt on yet and the FRC's have not been smooted and painted.. but you get the idea

I wouldn't paint the block but I would (and did) powderpaint the brackets, timing cover and such in a nice complementing or matching color.. I like trying for a more layered look than just chroming and polishing everything in sight.. but thats just me.. Eventually i will most likely relocate the coils and go with some nice valve covers like Mark but for now this will do (and I have some nice plans for the FRC artwork)..

Best of luck to ya
