my car stays running... even once the battery is disconnected ??
i started up my car(LQ4/4L8E) and decided to disconnect the battery... to my surprise it stays running. it runs well, even when revved and let decelerate it levels back out to a strong idle.
is this normal?
could my car be driven/operate regularly without a battery?
on a side note:
i changed my "alternator-to-distribution-block" cable from the thin factory cable to a 4 gauge cable. (my harness was done locally by BD Turnkey)

Don't run your car that way if you can help it. The battery helps smooth out voltage spikes. You can burn up an alternator running without the battery.
Funny story, I once went hiking and parked my car at a remote trailhead, maybe 35 miles to civilization. Came back 4 days latter to realize I had left my lights on. I didn't have jumper cables but I did have tools, so I popped the hood on another car in the lot and traded batteries long enough to get my car started. Left it running while I swapped his back. Kept thinking with my luck I would get caught replacing the other guy's battery and he would go all deliverance on me. My alternator went out about a month later.
