Default Obd 2 not working

I have been working on getting everything in my car actually working since the last owner did a poor job on this car. I tried hooking up the obd 2 port and have had no luck. The serial data wire is hooked up to blue pin 58. There is two wires that are grounded and one that is a constant 12v. I am not sure why it is not working. I have looked at several diagrams and followed them. Could the PCM not be putting out the signal? Car is an 89 rx7 with an 02 ls1 in it

2- PCM 58
4,5- Grounds
16- 12v constant.

Are you turning the key on when trying to read it?

I've seen where some of the pins in the obd connector under the dash have gotten pushed in a little and not making connection before ,,,,,,,,You never know it is a possibility in You're case . Good luck

What type of scanner/programmer are you trying to use? Also, what is the application?

Mine doesn't work either. I get a "data error". Mine is wired as described above, but no luck. OBDII reader works fine on my other cars.

Scanner shouldnt be the issue. What is the application? What PCM are you using?

The motor, harness and pcm are out of an 02 trans am. Could it be possible there is a ground or 12v not hooked up correctly to the pcm but the car still running fine? A friend of mine said that his 02 camaro works with all the scanners at his shop except one. I think it may be possible that the pcm will not interface with every scanner.

This may sound over simplistic , but did you check your fuses?
Do the 12v chargers work, in case you have them in your car?

fuses are fine. I can put a multimeter up to the correct pins on the plug itself and get both good power and good ground.

Got the Obd port working with the scanner at autozone. None of the other brand scanners worked. Anyways once I got it hooked up and read the codes, I got 13 codes. Most of them have to do with egr and emissions related. However I got three that were a little troubling and may be an indecation as too why my car is running so poorly.

I got:
injector circuit malfunction
bank 1 o2 heater malfunction
maf circuit malfunction
clutch switch malfunction

I am not sure which bank is bank 1 on the o2 sensor?
I am going to swap mafs and see if this is corrected. Maybe it got dirty?
I have no idea what to do with the injector circuit malfunction.

I assume the clutch switch does nothing for the performance of the engine?
