I dont currently have a motor the car was a roller when i bought it! It seems the V6 cost a fair amount more to build but the flip side the LS would require allot more fab work which will ring the total up there i think along with many others though the LS will handle bigger power better than the 6 long term.

Were you able to fit that Edelbrock intake with the stock GN hood?

Well i have decided to go the LS route and give my fab skills the challenge of keeping A/C while still running a turbo should be fun! Now for the Ls guru's what is a good foundation to start with block wise for a turbo build i was looking at a lsx 454 block i would like to have a fairly large CI motor just dont know if that is the way or not? The build will be getting nice internals and matched for a turbo which i dont want to be a huge unit if posssible for clearance reasons so i am open to suggestions and direction Please!

Chris ,the other said he'll take the headers but if he back out I'll let you know. A 6.0 will make 1200 HP with turbo, you dont need to go with that big with a turbo. 6.0 is fairly cheap

I guess somewhere in the 850hp range i want something to get me in the 9's fairly easy but with some room to grow if needed later which is why i was thinking a larger CI and low amount of boost for now then turn it up down the road if that time comes just need to be sure the motor will take it!

Haha, you won't need a 454 to get 850 hp turbo. Stick with the 6.0 iron. Some of the wilder n/a builds hit 850 horse. Not many but a couple have.

I would be fine with building a forged 6.0 as long as it would be able to handle the power long term and maybe a bit more. I just like doing thing right the first go around and overkill it for good measure!

That is what i am hearing but i was figuring for a little more $$$ get the LSX block that is stronger plus has 6 head bolts might be overkill but if i decide to get a little crazy some day the foundation is there already. I think the biggest challenge will be the exhaust keeping the a/c but like anything it can be done!

Here is a question anyone here ever slapped a procharger on a Ls'd Gbody thinking that may be a way to help with the tight exhaust issue? Pro's and cons compared to a turbo system?

A couple have done magnusons but I don't think any prochargers. It will take some good fab skill to keep the AC box with a turbo

I know it would be a tight fit thats why i am considering other routes. i seen a thread about someone doing a procharger on a g body but i dont know if it ever happened.
What are the differences in the turbo compared to a supercharger? Spool differently?different power level? when does a supercharger need intercooled?

Well decided to close the stock A/C hole and smooth it out i will probably go with a vintage air system further down the road. I contacted BRP about their mounts and told them i plan on running a 4l80e and they said i would need to cut the trans tunnel to fit it! I know a few guys here running the same trans and dont think they had to cut to fit so i guess the mounts are different with engine placement. What mounts and pan should i use to have the 4l80e fit without cutting?
