There is only adhesive that I would even try on these intakes and it is not cost effective for one intake. I would only consider body filler ,duraglass and epoxy for blending and a final step for appearance not for bonding. These intakes are Nylon 66 so invest in a plastic welder , save all pieces cut away from the intake webbing , bosses, posts and such , they can be used later as filler material. For filler rod I use plastic cable ties I prefer black but any color will do. To practice find an old radiator the end tanks are Nylon 66 , if you can repair it you are ready for a intake.

They sell a plastic welder for repairing nylon plastic. The one they sell is marketed for repairing plastic tanks on radiators. They also sell nylon plastic filler rods. This is what I suggest using.

Wouldn't rough the intake much more then 80grit. Less filler on it the better, light skim coat is fine for deed scratches, then a adhesion promoter, high build primer and have fun sanding.

 

AAHH ok you guys are plastic welding it. Never thought of that. I'm used to gluing **** together since I come from the composite world.

I have two truck intakes in my garage taking up space. PM me if anyone wants to buy them to do this. One has a drive by wire TB and the other has a cable drive TB.

 

 

I'm thinking about mounting the coils in between the runners hiding all wire's under the manifold

 

Pretty nice, I like the way it's going. I still got two intakes laying around I need to play around with.

Where are you placing map sensor? And the other port that was on the top in the middle(I forgot what it went to)

 

Haven't decided yet I May make a manifold out of the big push inlet in the back

 

This is how truck intakes should have came from the factory!!!! Hate mine with sharp edges and ish....

 

The biggest thing I hate about the truck intake is the plastic fuel rails and the crossover loop. The L59 Flex fuel stainless fuel rail is a big improvement in appearance. The new body trucks 07+ got a very similar rail, does anyone know if they are the same ?

 

rails are cheap on ebay pick your color and get some fittings and go

 

i think i found the adhesive the other poster was talking about bond-it b-42 100.00 minimum purchase OUCH IM TRYING DIFFERENT COMPOUNDS NOW. i only need it to seal ill rivit the top to secure it. then smooth and paint..has anyone evr tried "right stuff" we have used it in race engines and when it cures you would not even need bolts to hold on oil pan or intake its tough but dont know if it will stick to nylon

 

 

I didnt understand your color combo at first black and white but now I do. I look at your intake in white and I want to black out the log between the runners, just a suggestion . It will look good either way.

 

No color scheme yet that's primer! I'm thinking metallic silver and like u said maybe black in between the runners
