I'm turning my 04 GTO into a bare bones street legal drag car and getting ready to start the wiring here in the next week or two.
My goal is to eliminate as much wiring as possible and still be able to run the factory gauges, fuel pump, locks and Windows. If possible delete the bcm and big fuse/ relay box that was up on the passenger side wheelwell.
Anyone know where i can find and download a GREAT wiring schematic for the 04 GTO, or if some else had done this if you have links to how to mod the wiring harness down to bare minimum?
Still need the computer to run the fuel injection/ engine management, but the car was an a4, but now a 3 speed manual.
I do have and run Hptuners if that helps, I can go in and delete codes and adjust as needed.

Remove the throttle relaxer box and associated wiring and hook it up just like any other LS1 harness.

The BCM usually is used to control or interface between the Engine system and the Body.. I would think the Factory gauges are dependant on the BCM.
I would suggest you get a FSM or Alldata and pull up the Wiring drawing and trace them out to see what you can bypass and eliminate. Maybe someone with Allata will email you the drawings.
I would think that it would be easier to make the Engine Standalone Harness and use aftermarket gauge. The plus would be that you get more accurate information as compared to the factory gauges.

Thank you! Gives me a great start! By throttle relaxer box, to you mean the tcc unit the throttle cable find into, then second csble comes out of to the throttlebody?

I have thought about swapping the gauges, I have about $700 worth in boxes on the shelf right now, only thing I do not have is an electronic speedo....but I could pick one up.
Part of me wants to keep the factory dash face and gauges, but part of me wants to go full custom on that too lol

One of the fan speeds is run off of the BCM. The PCM can have a pin programmed to run in its place. You said bare bones so I would think that means no A/C, which is also run off the BCM.
