Are they still making the spectre tank? If so did they get the issues they were having ironed out?

This setup has given me zero problems for the 1000ish miles I have on my car. The key is to cut the hole as small as possible for the pump to fit through so the sump holds fuel.

If your on a tight budget the stock one that came in it works fine with a BB sending unit with return , external pump and vet filter/reg. Just keep more gas in the tank if you plan to go racing.

In my mind there is only one way to go. I bought mine from The Parts Place in Chicago. It is a stock tank and has a baffle and integrated fuel pump. I can't remember who makes it but the exterior looks just like a stock tank. They are around $600-700. You don't want to run a fuel pump out of the tank. The life of those pumps is way less because of overheating and they are loud. I found the noise of the pump on the rail just plain annoying.

The only way I would run an external pump is if I couldn't get it to fit in the tank or I had a previous fuel system that way.

That is the Spectra Tank. Have you had any issues? All the people I know and every post I've read in regards to that tank have been nothing but negative comments about that tank. Do you know if it is the new design?

Sorry, didn't know the manufacturer of my tank. I haven't run mine at all on the street. I like the fact that the pump is in the tank and it looks just like a stock tank. Maybe I shouldn't have posted my opinion in this case.

However there is a reason that factory cars all have the fuel pumps installed in-tank. It is either to keep the pump cool and quiet. Or to increase shop time to replace the pump to increase revenue for shops.

If my tank sucks I will buy a ricks.

Thanks

For guys looking to retain the stock tank look, Retrofuel is coming out with a setup for a 68-72 A Body. Here's the one for a 62-67 Nova:

Try looking at the tanks inc setup, their tank is supposed to be out late this month. I've seen a lot of good comments on the tanks inc conv. in stock tanks so I would think the complete unit by them would be as good or better! Price looked good too.
