Auto meter temp guage
Auto meter temp guage I know in order to hook up their Ultra Lites, you need the adapter and sender for short sweep guage to mount to LS heads. But are those also needed when hooking it up to after market heads? I have Trick Flow 235 heads? Thanks
I'm running something like this below. Its not exact but they are all over ebay. I also drilled and tapped another hole for the steam tube to attach to instead of routing it to my water pump or directly into my radiator.

I still seem to be having flase readings. Highway driving it stays at 205-10 then stop and go drops to 190. Now I am guessing it is electric interference as the temp drops when my volts drop. Going to check the ground tonight. Should I ground it right to the engine?
plus I out a temp laser on it when it was reading 210 and the gun was 180
wait, did you say you did or didnt put teflon tape on the threads? I was told not to because it gets its ground from the head and the tape would interfere with that. im no expert but it works for me
no tape on the adapter or sender.

what temps are you guys seeing that are running the adapter in the rear passenger head?
I also notice that mine will read 5 degrees lower after getting up to running temp and then shutting the car off and restarting it, then when starting it from cold??
Maybe I should take the teflon off or add another ground?

Can you guys share what temps you are seeing with this set up? And if any of you expereince what I do above?
Other day I was in dead stop traffic, 80+ degree and sunny and my guage got up to 230. Once moving it dropped right to 195 and stayed.
I assume all these factors will give me a higher reading: Maggie SC, reading off rear of head, rear ports tied to front, electric water pump.
Would lowering changing my t-stat to a 160 help??
