Transmission Questions I am in the market for a 4l80e. Does anyone know if a 4l80e uses the same drive shaft as a 4l60e? I have a driveshaft from my 700r4 that has already been in the car and was hoping I can reuse it instead of cutting again.
Check out the chart on this page. Looks like you'll be cutting that driveshaft.

BTW, is that driveshaft a shortened stocker? Because if it is, spend the money on a good driveshaft now because the raping you are gonna put on that stocker will probably put it to an early grave. You're car is real nice too so no sense in beating the **** out of the bottom of your ride to save a couple extra hundred and a month or two.
Yea, it is definitely a different drive shaft.
I had a thick-walled steel driveshaft made for me and I think it was under $200. The shop I took it too was really into sled-pulling with big turbo diesel trucks. He said that I'll tear the car apart before I tear the the driveshaft up. I believe him!

^^^^Too freakin' funny!!! I use a guy in the area that builds driveshafts for a lot of offroaders so I'm sure he can build me a shaft that will handle the situation.
