Suburban LS1 swap

Het guys I have a 99 C1500 Suburban with the 350 and 88000 miles. This thing is drinking oil ans consuming water. I was thinking about turning this thing into a street machine with a 2/4 in drop and dropping in an LS1.

Now all my life I have built up Ford's. Don't thrash me please. I respect Ford and GM alike. I just am not familiar with GM equiptment.

So what would it take to drop an LS1 in my burb. Any ideas of cost? Would the stock tranny hold up. I know I would have to change the ECM. What else would need to be changed?

We have a few guys here that have swapped LS1s into older trucks so someone should be able to help out.

I'm going to put a copy of this in the conversion section also because swaps are those guys life.
