Finally got the garage cleaned and made a little progress. I bought some trans adapt mounts and i am goin to have to build some spacers as the drag link is hitting the oil pan and the flipped manifold is really close to the steering shaft. However at least the motor and tranny are back in the car.

i also have a 69 chevelle and am trying to decide ls1 or 5.3. was yours out of a truck? what transmission did you use? what about are you going to use for accesories? are you going to be able to run factory or are you switching to car style?
would you suggest 5.3 for me?

This is a great thread, I have 69 that I am thinking about swapping out the 460 BB for an LS setup. I have a stout TH400 with a Gear Vendors setup, do the LS blocks bolt to the older trans and allow you to use the same motor mount locations?
Thanks
Bill

IDK how i found this thread. I was playing free cell and this popped up. Good thing too. '69 chevelles are one of my favorite muscle cars. I was looking for one when I bought the '54.

Car looks to be in good shape. Keep us posted on your progress. Subscribed. Good Luck.

I guess if i would have read a little closer i would have seen you are using a PG trans so a TH400 should work too.
Is the trans on the stock mounts?
