2002 Camaro Oil pressure Switch
2002 Camaro Oil pressure Switch Is the stock sending unit for a light or a gauge?
Is the switch required to have the ECU run properly or is it a stand alone system?
I have autometer gauges....but need to do something with the huge M16 hole in the back of the intake. Either block it off or find the sender unit.

You don't need the stock oil pressure sender. Just use the hole in the hole for the autometer sender via and adapter. Or plug it and run the autometer sender in the oil cooler block off plate above the oil filter drill and tap for it there.
I don't thing it is considered neither. It gives input to the BCM which drives the gagues. There is no interfacing between the Sender and the PCM.
Take the sender and use it to make an adapter, break off the black plastic parts and the internals.. Drill it out and tap it for 1/4" NPT (or 3/8" NPT if that is what you need) and stick in your original OEM sender from the swap car and your old oil gauge or light will work. Or you can use it for your Aftermarket gauge.
