Default Fuel pump relay control lsxfox

Have a modified truck harness from calspeed. The wire in question says "fuel pump relay control: puts out + to turn on relay"

Does this mean the relay for the fuel pump under the driver seat? What wire does it tap into or replace I'm confused and need help. My friends left me high and dry for Friday night runs, so can someone please walk me through this

I do not posses either of those books and broke so can't go buy one right now.

A buddy who has a ls1 turbo fox told me to wire it into the pink w/ blk stripe wire that is 1 of the 3 in the trunk area. Does this sound right?

i THINK thats the actual hot wire to the pump, look on your relay under the seat and see if one is there that color. not to be a ***** but if you cant afford a $20 book to help you shouldnt be doing the project.

Default relay help

hello bakomack. on the relay, look for #87. #87 will turn on the relay. #30 will be fused power to the relay. the fuel pump trigger should turn on the relay to #86 or #85. can u say which is ground? the trigger should send a +12v to the relay.

http://content.chiltonsonline.com/co...s/88156w03.pdf

Orange/ light blue is 12v constant
Pink/black is pump power
red/black is 12v ignition from the inertia switch
tan/light green is ground from the ECM to complete the circuit powering the pump.

Here is what you are going to do to make it work.

Take the fuel pump power enable from the GM PCM to the rear of the car, cut and splice into the RED wire on the inertia switch
Take and cut the Tan/light green wire from the ECM and put it to ground.

Pump will power when the GM PCM tells it to.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: To maintain the safety factor of the factory inertia switch YOU MUST CUT THE RED WIRE and splice the Power from the Fuel Pump power from the GM PCM

I just read this post. I wasn't getting any power to the pump at all do what I did was run a ignition power wire back to the pink/blk wire in the rear of te car and that kicked on the pump so motor would start. Is there anything wrong doing it this way?

Well, yes and no. It isn't what I would have done. You need to keep The inertia switch, and the pump control left to the ecm. If there is an issue, the pump will keep pumping fuel in an accident. With allowing the ecm to maintain control, when the engine stops, so does the pump. And the inertia switch is just a good idea.

My car is a 91 and I tapped into the green wire coming off my relay. The computer controls my pump. I made a jumper harness and tried it first to see if the pump came on when hot

As of right now for some unknown reason the orange wire under the driver seat is the only wire with power all others and all 4 in the trunk have no power at all. I'm using a modified truck harness the stock engine bay harness is removed where do I go from here

Thats from a Fused link. It is supposed to have power at all times. Like I mentioned above
These are the colors of the wires at the fuel pump relay under the seat.
Orange/ light blue is 12v constant
Pink/black is pump power
red/black is 12v ignition from the inertia switch
tan/light green is ground from the ECM to complete the circuit powering the pump.

Here is what you are going to do to make it work.

Well my inertia switch wires have been cut and retired.

The red/blk wire has been cut and tied into the pink/blk wire and the solid red wire is left the same.

How can I wire my fuel pump relay control wire into the group of wires under the driver seat and make this run with the wires being jerry rigged like they are, I don't care if the inertia switch works or not

Let me get this straight, take the fuel pump relay control from the stand alone harness to the rear of the car to the inertia switch. Then tie it in to the solid red wire? ( which one the solid red or the red/blk)

Then take the tan/light green wire under the seat and cut it from the relay plug and just ground it out? Is this right?

Help! I need clarification on this!

Or will this work on a regular relay?
30- 12v constant
85- ground
87- power to pump
86- fuel pump relay control

Would this be fine for my fuel pump?
