Ooooh by the way did you ever try different manifolds when you built the hot sided....didn't remember seeing if you did or not.

I already put in some of your data(you will have to do it on your end also) and it points to 187% anti-squat. that is alot more than we even had in the Farimont or the Mustang.


We had some help from Kevin, when we setup our old Turbo Fairmont from the 1320 video days, and then we used alot of that in setting up the 6 liter PT88 Mustang of Mike's

Both of those were in the 1.2x sixty foot range on radials. Mustang was 3450 lbs, and Fairmont was 3180 lbs, so those suspensions were working.

We had t-brakes on both cars, but we have launched both with foot brake also. Double adjustable Afcos on the mustang made dialing in the suspension easier, but the Fairmont, just had worn out plain old shocks.

I have the data in the cars' folders at home( I just saw it last week).

I will grab it, and bring it to the shop tomorrow, and see if I can post it up for you.


We did all of our "setup" backyard style, tho.

To get the CG we literally balanced the car on two jack stands, and then marked the rocker, at the stand locations. Then just assumed the the CG was at camshaft height, straight up from there.

And like someone said before, get some "dead weight" to put in the driver's seat, to simulate you in the car.

There is an old thread on Yellowbullet, from when TireFrying was first working out the setup on his Fairmont, that I posted up alot of out data.

I'll see if I can find it, too.

Cars have way too many variables to just throw numbers out there, but the "process" should get you going in the right direction.

I think we first started out with 100% AntiSquat, just started working both ways(plus and minus 10%) to give us an idea of what we were doing.

Also, we had HP Motorsports Megabite Jrs, on the Fairmont, and homemade bars on Mike's mustang.

Awesome, yeah that is what it seems, just trying to see what numbers work for folks with different combos.

We go to Commerce, have for years. Never had a car messed with. So I wouldn't say this is typical, the track manager Mike Savage wouldn't put up with that if he knew. On another note, great build and good luck getting your times down next season sir.

Apparently on test and tune night it is a lot more common than other nights. It would be very hard to differentiate someone working on their car from someone screwing with someone's car. Hard to police.

I am sure I will get back out there though and I am sure the time will come down. I just have to get this whole traction thing down, haha. I have a guy giving me some advice, just need to grab some springs here soon and get some measurements done.
