Default LS1 to '65 Mustang motor mounts? Anyone make them?

Putting a LS1 in my father's Panoz. The chassis is already setup for a '65 Mustang motor mount. I figure someone makes the mount I need already vs. making a custom one. Not having much luck finding one though. Anyone know of any?

Current blow up POS SBF, but it shows the '65 musang style mount

Thanks,

Brian

Did you try Hooker?
I recall them having a list of mount adaptations.

Starting to think the 4.6 mounts may work....

The 4.6 mounts will probably work fine but it depends on how close your firewall is to the back of the SBF. I found I had to enlarge one of the holes (two holes on the same side) the 4.6 mount to get it to line up adequately with the LS1 block mounts.

I also just used some cheap $30 used solid 4.6 mounts, cut the "third hole" leg completely off, and welded on some 3/16" angle steel so the mount bolted to the four original holes on the LS block instead of using the spacer. All the spacer will do is make the engine sit a small amount higher than it would without the spacer.

I have tons of room behind the bellhousing. I actually wanted to move the engine back for a few reasons...

Yeah I think this will work... will try it out...

http://www.pro-touring.com/showthrea...x-1967-Mustang

i just put one in my 67 mustang. i used some spare 69 camaro 350/z28 motor stands and skinny tall energy sbc motor mounts with 1/2" thick sbc ebay adapter plates.

you are going to play hell getting the exhaust to work with the shock towers. i am going to attempt a 351w header flange swap in hopes of keeping the stock steering.

i was able to make the center link and power steering ram fit under a GTO oil pan. i fabbed up my own center brace since the GTO pan hung too low to keep the original.

Do you have a part number of the dirty dingo mounts, or picture of the install?

I made my own due to aftermarket sub frame but it wasn't difficult. After looking at josh's. Dirty dingo mounts I would have tried them. The thread is ugly betty and its a lq4 into a 66 stang
