Default Engine cover assistance needed

I have a 5.3 Vortec in my '49 Fleetline. My present engine cover is from an SSR (not sure if it is the early or late version, since I'm not too hip on SSRs). As you can see from the pic, it doesn't look very spiffy. Has anyone mounted a different engine cover to a truck motor ... other than a stock one, of course. Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Any of the other three piece later truck engine covers will fit it. Just have to find one you like. Unless its custom you may be out of luck with the truck intake.

Sorry to say they are all ugly.

Options:

LS1 or LS6 intake

do a search for "smoothing" a truck intake. thats what I want to do.

The best looking cover is the GTO's LS1/LS2. I am running no cover because I liked the way the LS6 intake manifold looks. Plus who like's popping a hood on newer cars and seeing plastic covers all over?!

I actually do kinda like the Max cover, it wont fit my application but it looks pretty good (might just be becouse my engine theme is black and red)

will the GTO covers you speak of fit a truck intake?
cus if he is going to swap intakes a cover is icky.

I'm not likely to change the intake ... I don't want to give up the low-end torque. So any Camaro/GTO cover isn't likely to work, to the best of my knowledge. I guess I'll just cover it with stickers and keep the hood closed.

The car covers will not fit the truck intake. And to swap a car intake to a truck motor accessories you have to change a few things.
