Default Jaguar LSXJ6

So I figured I better start a build thread to keep me motivated and in case I have any questions etc. along the way.

The Victim

and my favourite part

73 Jaguar XJ6 with 82,xxx miles. The original straight 6 was one of the smoothest running engines I've ever driven but unfortunately it never ran right consistently so after getting fed up with cold start issues dying batteries and alternators I decided it was time for a change.

The Strip
STUFFED

So long and so heavy was quite interesting to get it out

Its like a cavern in there

1 HP

Picked this up for $400

Cleaned up nicely

All Painted

and thats pretty much where we are today. Using a swap kit for Jaguar Specialties and picked up a bunch of parts and am basically just looking for someone to modify my Camaro oil pan so I can get the engine and transmission in the car (4l60e picked it up for $540 delivered)

So apparently I'm really bad at keeping this thread updated, but I'm trying to wrap up this swap and am stumped by this issue. My idle has been really high (2400-3000rpms) I checked for codes and got code P0118 and my coolant temperature wouldn't change from -38.2F. Replaced the temperature sending unit same code same coolant temperature.
Checked voltage at the plug and...

both sides of the plug read 5volts. Is that normal? I know one side is supposed to be but i don't know if both sides should.

Also further up from the plug theres this junction...

Is that normal? I'm completely stumped any help would be awesome thank you

Did u check continuity back to the pins on the ECM? 5v on each side doesn't seem right.

No, one side is supposed to be ground and the other will have no (floating) if anything on it.
You need to trace it back to the ecu to see if it's wired correctly. If correct, then your PCM could be bad (unlikely).

One side of the connector should be connected to the red pcm connector pin 57 purple wire and the other to red connector pin 25, tan wire.

Ok so i checked the continuity back to pins blue 74 and 80 and there was no 80 pin. After checking some wires found the right one and moved it over and now I'm get correct coolant temperature reading. Code P0118 is gone but in its place is code P0507 and same idle.

seems like vacuum leaks after the throttle body would be associated with that code (and high idle condition).
have you hunted for vacuum leaks?
Did you change intake manifolds?

Could this possibly be your problem? (did you clean the throttle body)

Checked for vacuum leaks and the idle never changed. It could need an idle relearn since this is the first time this has all been together (ls1 intake, truck throttle body and truck maf). Looking up how to do it I cant seem to find a clear answer. Has anyone done it successfully?
