Porsche 944, you can even use the Porsche transaxle. It is an easy swap. BTW, I lived in Weisloch, Germany for a while.

For the best handling look at the Renegade Hybrids LS powered 914. I built a 400hp 914 and it beat everything in a straight line and through the curves. 1+G's and mid-engine balance.
