What did you drill/tap the thread out to? You can find flat head bolts that have a polished/smooth head. On deaccel i would guarantee the belt could see additional slack; add that to harmonic vibrations and it could possibly develop a wear pattern.

Just tossing an idea, the build looks killer so far and the wrenching with the little one is what it is all about

i tapped it to the factory alternator size M10x1.50..ill look into it,because i was thinking under some high rpms that it might hit..yea Cam is always wanting to get his hands dirty..teach him young,so he'll be into it as much i am.

Small update!..in the process of buying my first house, and with another little one on the way..it put a small delay on my build..I did a small wire tuck on the headlight harness..put the motor in,and the front in back on to make it easier to move to the new house...without loading up a bunch of spare parts..also with the 1" carb spacer it wouldn't clear my 2 1/"2 cowl with an air cleaner..couple pics!

awesome build!

for that alternator bolt, find a allen cap bolt and recess it into the bracket if possible, it will sit flush with the bracket

My belt setup is the exact same and it doesn't hit the bolt at any point.
