Holley LS Accessory drive FEAD- anybody use it?

They'll string you along on "new" stuff. I could be wrong, but this is usually the case. I remember Summit had the Barry Grant "Bad Man" inline 4 BBL setup listed for over a year (2 weeks out at a time) before any shipped, if they shipped at all. Holley's done it too...

I really like that with the 20-135 bracket I can reuse the truck water pump, balancer, alternator, tensioner, and all I need to buy is the Holley bracket and one corvette idler pulley which is $14. Later I can use my choice of the LS compressor in the stock position, Holley bracket and R4 compressor, or the Kwik bracket and Sanden compressor.
I am going to mock up my LS3 intake and truck water pump this weekend and if it clears I am going to go for it.

Bump, anyone else have the kit? I have a couple fitment issues that I'd like to see if anyone else is having.
Particularly, with the power steering pump. I've got a steel pump from an 02' Camaro, which is identical to the Corvette one minus the Corvette pump being aluminum. The bracket was designed for the aluminum ones. My issue is the lowest bolt head interfering with the way the pump is supposed to sit inside the bracket. Also, the portion around the return tube is catching the edge of the bracket. I could easily modify this but would hate to start grinding on my $250 bracket setup

There is also this option by Dirty Dingo. It allows you to keep all your truck accessories....no need to change pullies or pumps. It's a little pricey though at $239. I went with this setup and I am waiting for the UPS man.

I went with the LS7 (GMPP 19155067) FEAD on mine, which was $800 delivered. It was a direct fit, with no frame notching required. The alternator is high and to the driver side, instead of low, like the F-Body FEAD (GMPP 19155066), which will require notching. I will probably sell my existing PS Pump, if you're interested (1K miles) - $80 (I keep the pulley and reservoir). I'm going to end up getting a Turn One PS Pump. I also have an extra LS7 GM bracket for the PS and Alternator.

If you're willing to do the fabrication, it shouldn't be too hard to make something out of aluminum plate.

Just need an idler pulley, right about where the PS reservoir is in the pic in the post right above yours. Belt would come off crank, go to the left side of the WP, to the idler, to the alt, and the use a tensioner with a smooth pulley on the underside of the belt on the way back to the crank.

Look at the pic below and imagine a line drawn directly from the alternator pulley to the lower idler pulley. Looking at my car, it's doable--with the PS pump removed entirely (no replacement idler, just removed), there's nothing in the path of the belt. You definitely need to measure out a different belt, but it should work.

Had a couple pics of a right mounted alt stored, thought about doing it myself at one time, now going to put my AC there. Also, on further thought, the idler on the drivers side above the water pump could be either a smooth or ribbed idler, depending on how you'd like to route the belt, With a ribbed idler, come off the crank to the idler and then under the water pump, or with the snooth idler, come off the crank, under the water pump around the pass side over the top to the idler, then back accross to the alternator.

This one is driver side, but it's another option for you. $150.

Holley bracket showed up today, nice piece, fast shipping from Pace. It came with a bolt kit, which I wasn't expecting, so if you have a Vette balancer, it's all you need. I'm going to make my own spacer to use the F body balancer, have plenty of 3/4 aluminum around, so I saved that $60.00. Biggest gripe I have with it is it's designed around the Vette PS pump, which seems pricey, and somewhat tough to come by. Luckily I found one in the classifieds here. Tried the Envoy pump that came on my engine without the reservoir, it had the right bolt pattern, but wouldn't fit in the bracket. If a person didn't already have an alt, better off just getting a C5 Vette bracket, which is basically the same as the Holley, but requires a Vette alt. Plenty of Vette brackets around for $50-$60. Could even use the Holley spacer/bolt kit with the Vette bracket and either an F body or truck balancer.
