Default Finished making the brake arm!!!!

I've been working on this brake arm for about 3 or 4 weeks now and I finally just finished tonight so I thought I'd post a link to the progress. I tried to copy and paste it here but the pictures wouldn't carry over.

www.aprilmays37.blogspot.com

I had originally designed this to go through the original gas pedal hole, but the 4L60E just won't let that happen so I started over and made it go through the old clutch pedal hole.

37 Chevrolet 4 door: 2003 5.3, GMPP single plane intake, accufab 4150 TB, 4L60E, 8.8 Ford rear end.

It (hopefully) won't after I get fluid in it and bleed the brakes.

Mine ended up in a similar position. Had to be offset to the left to leave room for the gas pedal before the trans tunnel comes into play. Not much room left! Of course all of that AND the steering were trying to occupy the same space.

Hey Richard, haven't talked to you in a while.

Yeah, that brake arm was a huge pain. Did yours end up having less travel after the fluid was in it? I ended up moving the pictures and updates over to
www.aprilmays37.blogspot.com
because the place I was using broke for about a month.

Do you have any pictures of how you mounted your a/c compressor. I started trying to mount mine today and it's being a huge pain, and I'm NOT going to pay $2,500 dollars for one of those overpriced front mounting systems.

Any new pictures of your progress?

Yeah, the travel will be greatly reduced. I used tge factory Silverado mount for the a/c. My motor is mounted high enough in the chassis that the compressor clears the frame rail. I can't access the lower bolt holes so a modufication will probably be needed later. A/C isn't getting hooked up yet so that's on the back burner for now. I've got lots of pics but can't post right now. We've "hunkered down" to ride out Isaac for the night.

Ah, I see. I really wish I had room on the bottom because it would make for a much, much cleaner look but the Chassis Engineering setup is quite a bit bigger than some other IFS kits and it won't let it happen.

I didn't realize you were down in that area. I hope all is well through the storm.

I designed a high-mount AC compressor bracket for truck accessories that I can sell you for much less than what Kwik wants for theirs. It should work with the carb setup. PM me if you're interested.

Pics here and here.

Hey Ken, I've read your post many, many times. It's been a great source of inspiration and ideas, I'm really glad and thankful you took the time to post the pictures and words.

Hook, unfortuantely, I don't have room for the compressor to be far out wide, so I'm having to put it up top.
