Pretty cool. You need to make that forward upper Y-link rotate or you will never keep the jam nut tight or have much independent travel . Ride like ladder bars

Got some racing seats for $25 a piece today. Frames were mangled all to $hit. Took them apart, reinforced the frames, put the upholstery back on and walaa! Not bad for 50 bucks

Awesome, but I think you need a taller shifter.

I know! Was considering Lokars 32" but I would have had to cut a hole in the roof and was ask out of cutting wheels for my grinder.
Lol.

PS: Lokar shifters are TRASH!!! Installation instructions are designed by a blind schizophrenic with the informal skills of a €uc¥ing rock!

Built the frame for the fuel cell

Got my rear brake hose and lines installed. Also tacked some tabs on the frame to hold the hard lines in place.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Should have her drivable (not finished) in the next couple weeks and will be taking it to the weekly car show on Fridays@ Little Road and I20. Watch my thread as I will update with the exact date I'll be there.

I'll admit rat rods aren't my thing but I can appreciate and respect the work you're putting into this build. Kudos! Can't wait to see it done!

Your fuel cell is backwards. The outlets should face the rear.

Thanks man! Out has ben alot of work and part of the reason I'm doing a Rat is because it's ok to not be perfect as long as it is safe.

Oh $h¡T!!!......

Just kidding. I know it's backward compared to about every levee vehicle out there. One reason is because at ride height the rear of the truck is significantly higher (like some original Rat Fink rats) in which case it is more efficient to have the sump of the cell where I have it. I do understand that one of the main reasons it is suggested to have the lines in the rear is to avoid being sprayed with gas if you were rear ended but lets face it, if I'm rear ended in this thing hard enough to break the 2x4x3/16 fish plated frame it's not gonna matter where those lines are.

under hard acceleration and with a partial load of fuel, it is possible to pull the fuel away from the outlets and starve the pump/engine. putting them in the rear avoids this and under hard braking, it's not as critical to momentarily starve for fuel. but if you never let it get below 1/3 -1/4 might not be a problem.

I am with ls68firebird & sandman, but not saying it is wrong. The fuel cell should be the other direction. The fuel cell has a built-in sump, angled area at the bottom. The way you have it mounted may cause fuel starvation under acceleration.
